We are developing innovative medical devices for use in the field of heart disease medicine.
Acute Cardiac Infarction and the Path Forward
Occurs in approximately 80,000 people in Japan each year
Acute myocardial infarction is a condition which occurs when the blood vessels (coronary arteries) of the heart become blocked, halting blood flow and causing necrosis of myocardial cells. This condition occurs in approximately 80,000 people in Japan and approximately 1 million people in the United States each year. Many people die from myocardial infarction, which often occurs suddenly, and this disease accounts for the majority of cases of heart-related pathologies and is second leading cause of death in Japan.
The World’s First “Nerve Stimulation Treatment”, Made in Japan
Adriakaim’s Work to Control Heart Failure
Of the approximately 80,000 people in Japan each year who develop acute myocardial infarction, approximately 23,000 are said to develop chronic heart failure. Adriakaim aims to suppress the onset of chronic heart failure through application of a vagus nerve stimulation device developed using its proprietary technology.
Founding Vision
Never Let Innovative Technology go to Waste!
We, during our experience as a leading medical device manufacturer, have been engaged in many activities related to new businesses and new technologies. Among these, we chose to establish a “spin-out” venture to accelerate the development and practical application of treatment devices to be indicated for acute myocardial infarction. This work has been supported by the National Cerebral and Cardiovascular Center for 10 years.
